It was festivity aplenty at the end of the week as prominent identities from Anambra State and Nigeria who were accepted to have helped the Nigerian Red Cross Society, NRCS, in Anambra State in the administration to humanity and arrangement of help to the most defenseless, were designed and invested with befitting respects by the Anambra State chapter of NRCS

Among those honoured under the category of Pillar of solferino for humanity were the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige; former Central Bank Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo; two movie actors, Pete Edochie and Bob-Manuel Udokwu, as well as star actress, Lady Ngozi Ezeonu. Those honoured under the category of Grant royal fathers of humanity were the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe; Igwe Kenneth Orizu of Nnewi and Igwe Gibson Nwosu of Awka, while Igwe Christopher Idigo of Aguleri, Igwe Ben Emeka of Umueri, Igwe Innocent Obodoakor of Agulu, Igwe Roland Odegbo, Igwe Elias Nneli of Umueje and Igwe Alex Onyido of Ogidi were honoured under the category of Royal fathers of humanity. Those also honoured under the Pillar of solferino for humanity were Alhaji Abubakar Kende, Secretary-General, NRCS; Barr. Oforbike Nwobodo, international delegate from International Federation of Red Cross; Tim Filip Ross, delegate, ICRC, Port Harcourt Zone; Prof. Greg Nwakoby, Vice-chancellor, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, COOU; among others.
